In the World War III map, Afghanistan is a medium-sized nation that starts off with 6 cities and 71 victory points. Afghanistan consists of 45 provinces. In the World War III map the cities it consists of are, in alphabetical order, Herat; Jalalabad; Kabul; Kandahar; Kunduz and Mazari Sharif.
The in-game description for Afghanistan reads: "Medium-Sized Nation. This semi-arid country is dominated by rugged mountains and dry plains. Fought over for decades, Afghanistan has been called the graveyard of empires."
Afghanistan's military doctrine is Eastern, favouring Tanks, Mobile Artillery, and Helicopter Gunships.
