World War III

In the World War III map, South Korea is a country that starts with 4 cities, Seoul, Busan, Gwangju, and Gangneung, with 34 victory points. Since it has 4 cities, South Korea has a deficiency of fuel. Its immediate neighbors are North Korea to the north.

Its in-game description reads as "A minor nation, located in the southern part of the Korean peninsula. Dominated by mountainous terrain, the Korean Republic has been wearily eyeing its northern neighbor for decades. A word of advice: this nation is best suited for experienced players."

Pros:

  • South Korea's only immediate neighbor is in the north. Taking down North Korea will make things a lot easier for South Korea, easier than other countries.
  • Allying with Japan will go toward invading China, and with Japan's support, China can be taken down easily, even better with a navy.
  • A fuel city is very close. You can take Ulleungdo down, with that, you will get fuel. Taking Latvia or Brunei is also a good idea.
  • Yet another strategy is allying with North Korea and taking down Japan.
  • South Korea's only immediate concern is a navy when using the strategy above.

Cons:

  • If South Korea does not create a sizable navy and air force quickly, it will be hard for South Korea to proceed.
  • North Korea and Japan together is almost always equal to defeat - ally with one first.
  • South Korea has the 2nd lowest number of victory points, after Israel, therefore it takes a longer period to win.
  • Tsushima Island can be an eyesore. However, if you take it over, it may anger Japan.

Z

In Z, South Korea has the same number of cities and Victory points as WWIII, however, South Korea, unlike WWIII, would need an air force more than a navy thanks to the zombies and unique types of strategy coming on to South Korea.

EDIT: Z is not playable anymore.
