The campaign map defines how many players can play and what countries are available. There are seven main maps that one can play on.

One of them is Flashpoint Europe, which is based off of current day Europe, parts of the Middle East, the Caucasus, northwest Africa and eastern North America (excluding Greenland). In this map, Scotland and Northern Ireland have seceded from the United Kingdom, Quebec has seceded from Canada, Vermont has seceded from the United States, Crimea is independent, Donbass has seceded from Ukraine, Karelia and Kaliningrad have seceded from Russia, Jämtland has seceded from Sweden and Portugalicia and Catalonia have seceded from Spain. In addition, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have united to form the Baltic States, Slovenia has joined Croatia, and Montenegro and Kosovo have joined Serbia. There are 30 player-controlled countries and 29 AI-controlled countries. This map is based off of the earlier Europe 1990 map, which in turn is based off of the Europe Clash of Nations map from Conflict of Nation's sister game, Call of War. This map is unlocked by default.

The second is World War III, which is based off of the entire current day world. There are 64 player-controlled countries and ____ AI-controlled countries. This is based off of the earlier World at War 2020 map, which in turn is based off of the World at War map from Call of War. This map is unlocked by default.

There is an apocalyptic variant of World War III.

The third is the Overkill map, which is based off of the World War III map, but many AI countries have been turned into player-controlled countries.

The fourth is the Rising Tides map, which is based on a world in 2050 after global warming has caused many cities to be submerged, Antarctica to be habitable, several areas to be too hot to survive, and several large countries to shatter into several smaller countries. The insurgency in this map is also more powerful.

The fifth is the Battleground USA map, which is based on a fractured North America after Canada, United States and Mexico were split into provinces and states respectively.

The sixth is the Cold War map, which is based on the real-life Cold War and the Flashpoint Europe map. Many former countries from the late 20th century have been brought back, and Iceland and Denmark are made playable. Iran has been made an AI nation and the Caucasus countries are part of the Soviet Union.

There are several event maps. For example, alliance games can be played on the Flashpoint Europe Pro (check this), Alliance Challenge, Elite Mediterranean Challenge, and Elite World Challenge map. Special events can be played on maps such as the Middle East or The Flash (or Able-Archer) map.

Trivia

  • In the traditional Chinese version of the game, the World War III map is called "2020年世界大戰," which translates to "World War 2020."
